Anti-social behaviour
Preventing and tackling anti-social behaviour (ASB) is a priority for Casa Support in order to help residents and service users feel safe and secure in their homes and neighbourhood. What is anti-social behaviour? Anti-social behaviour (ASB) covers a wide range of behaviour, which includes but is not limited to: - Intimidation and harassment;
- Domestic abuse;
- Violence or threats of violence;
- Noise nuisance: e.g. loud music, persistent shouting/rowing;
- Rowdy, loutish behaviour and drunkenness;
- Pet nuisance/uncontrolled animals;
- Dealing or taking drugs;
- Graffiti;
- Damage to property/buildings;
- Dumping rubbish;
- Abandoned vehicles.
Our objectives are to: - Prevent ASB by widely promoting the actions we will take;
- Take early action to resolve ASB;
- Agree an action plan with you;
- Support and protect you as far as possible;
- Work with others in the community: e.g. other associations, police, Local Authorities;
- Take firm action against more serious forms of ASB such as harassment, intimidation and threats of violence;
- Seek to achieve long lasting solutions to ASB.
What you should do if you experience ASB Where possible you should speak to your neighbour and explain the effect their behaviour is having on you. Some people may not be aware how their behaviour is affecting you: for example, the level of noise you can hear from your property. Your Landlord will be able to advise you in these circumstances.
