Sometimes, when things start to go wrong, you just need a helping hand from people who understand the problems you are facing and have the contacts and expertise to help you. That's where floating support can help.

Abuse can be physical, sexual, financial or emotional or psychological or a combination of these. It can happen to anyone irrespective of age, gender, class, race, sexuality, disability etc.
It is estimated that mental health problems affect more than 8 million people in England and, at any one time, more than 1 in 6 people have a mental health problem. An unsatisfactory housing situation can lead to worsening mental health. People with mental health problems are particularly likely to have vulnerable housing. The government has a vision where people with mental health problems have the same opportunities to work and participate in their communities as any other citizen. Safe secure accommodation plays a critical role in achieving this vision.
Homelessness is the most extreme form of housing need. There are many people in England who do not have a home despite not actually sleeping rough. Unable to afford alternative options, many have to endure overcrowding and unsanitary conditions.
Casa Support provides floating support services to older people in the Swale area of Kent. The service is available to anyone over the age of 55, living in sheltered housing, in private accommodation or in their own home.
Casa Support's day to day work brings us into contact with some of the most vulnerable members of the community. Customers come to us with many problems over which they have no control and not always through any fault of their own.
